Biography

Charles Wessner
Dr. Charles (Chuck) Wessner is an internationally recognized expert on public-private partnerships, early-stage financing for new firms, and the special needs and benefits of high-technology industry. He regularly advises agencies of the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government, testifies to the U.S. Congress and major national commissions, and lectures at major universities in the U.S and abroad. He is frequently asked to address issues of shared policy interest with foreign governments, universities, and research institutes. He also serves as an advisor to the 30-nation OECD Committee on Science and Technology Policy and to the Mexican National Counsel on Science and Technology and is a member of the Norwegian Technology Forum. His published work includes a series of recent articles on issues associated with early stage finance and national innovation systems in addition to a multi-volume analysis of public-private partnerships in the United States and abroad. These twelve reports constitute the largest, program-based assessment to date of public-private partnerships to assist new and existing firms in the development of innovative, welfare enhancing technologies.
