Biography
Dr. Charles (Chuck) Wessner is an internationally
recognized expert on public-private partnerships, early-stage financing
for new firms, and the special needs and benefits of high-technology
industry. He regularly advises agencies of the Executive Branch of
the U.S. Government, testifies to the U.S. Congress and major national
commissions, and lectures at major universities in the U.S and abroad.
He is frequently asked to address issues of shared policy interest
with foreign governments, universities, and research institutes. He
also serves as an advisor to the 30-nation OECD Committee on Science
and Technology Policy and to the Mexican National Counsel on Science
and Technology and is a member of the Norwegian Technology Forum.
His published work includes a series of recent articles on issues
associated with early stage finance and national innovation systems
in addition to a multi-volume analysis of public-private partnerships
in the United States and abroad. These twelve reports constitute the
largest, program-based assessment to date of public-private partnerships
to assist new and existing firms in the development of innovative,
welfare enhancing technologies.
