Biography
Albrecht Bochow is the Director, Automotive Group of the German Industrial
Investment Council (IIC), a foreign direct investment consulting agency
with the official mandate of the federal German Government. Under his direction
the company recently opened an office in Troy, Michigan to support North
American investors interested in business opportunities in former eastern
Germany.
Bochow has been with the IIC since 2000 and has consulted with numerous
North American automotive suppliers on JV, M&A as well as Greenfield
projects linked to the growing automotive clusters in former eastern Germany.
Among those companies who currently operate or do business in the area are
New Venture Gear, DaimlerChrysler, Dana, American Axle & Manufacturing,
Peterson Springs, Cloyes Gear and KSR Automotive.
Prior to joining the IIC, Bochow worked for Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, Germany
and Puebla, Mexico where he negotiated the entire raw steel production volume
from NAFTA sources. Before that he was a Purchasing Manager for aluminium
casting parts at Volkswagen.
Bochow, a native of former eastern Germany received an MBA from the College
of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He also holds a Masters
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Dresden
in Germany. While working with the Industrial Investment Council, Mr. Bochow
is currently pursuing the studies and the research to write a doctoral dissertation
on the topic: "Foreign Direct Investment in the eastern German Automotive
Industry". |
